Cultural immersion trips and solidarity

Journey to the Logone Valley:

Option A

10 days: 5 of them participating in a direct way and the rest 5 days touring.
Upon arrival, travellers will spend the first night in N'Djamena, since next morning they should make the appropriate arrangements with the police (check visa and residence permissions). With this procedure, the traveller will be able to go around all the Logone Valley without any problem, regardless he/she is in Cameroon or Chad. Accommodation will be in the guest house of Sana Logone and Globalmon, except for one night, when travellers will stay in the camp of Waza National Park.

Days 1-5.
Non-formal education, leisure and educational activities which deal with the issues, environment, gender equality, empowerment of Massa culture, education for coexistence, creative education.
The traveller will be installed in the guest house in Sana Logone (either in Yagua or in Bongor) according to the school where volunteering is taking place.
According to school teachers, planned activities will be developed for 5 days.
During these days, the volunteer will have the opportunity to meet the parental associations, and hear their experiences in first hand, along with other Globalmon and Sana Logone projects, right beside of the Logone Sana’s technicians.
Volunteers also will visit in their spare time the regions of Bongor and Yagoua, and the respective headquarters of Sana Logone.

Itinerary on the Logone Valley:
Day 6: excursion to the village of Roomsiki.
A mountain enclave where the main roads that connect Chad and Cameroon from north to south and from east to west are linked, and therefore it is a crossroads for traders and travellers of all types, in which fruit and vegetable market is certainly an essential point to visit.
From the village, we will start a small mountain route, where we will enjoy a rich natural and animal landscape.
In the afternoon, arrival at the Waza National Park. Dinner and sleep in the boukarous.

Day 7: Waza National Park
Early departure for a tour along the Natural Park (admission 5 euros including the expenses of the trip).
This is one of the most important Nature Reserves of Central Africa. In it, thousands of species of animals and plants of the Sahel region live altogether. We may see antelopes, elephants, gazelles, giraffes, hippos, ostriches, lions and a wide variety of birds.
Back at the hostel in Sana Logone (Bongor or Yagoua)

Day 8: Pousse and Obus’s houses.
Excursion to the town of Pousse for visiting the known Obus’s houses.
Stops at other villages along the Logone river.

Day 9: N'Djamena
Visit the city until the departure time of the flight.


Option B

Travel is designed for groups of 10 people.


Accommodation:
Rooms for two people, although you can request a third bed. All of them have bathrooms.

Itinerary.:
Day 1: Arrive in N'Djamena (capital of Chad)
Dinner and overnight at the Catholic Mission

Evening arrival to the city.

Day 2: Massa Villages
Dinner and overnight at Bongor

Breakfast in the Catholic Mission in N'Djamena. Leaving to Bongor, along the Logone river. Stop at the different towns of Massa and places of special natural and scenic interest. Visit the structure of the villages and some Massa’s houses where women will show us how they live their daily lives.
During the tour there will be a stop at one of the schools built by Globalmon and  Sana Logone, where travellers will have the opportunity to meet the students and talk to them and to their parents and teachers too.

Day 3: Lake Guero
Dinner and overnight at Yagoua
Visit the Lake, rich in different kinds of animal species, especially because volunteers can see the hippos that live there. In addition, travellers can also see the traditional fishing techniques of the hand of women and men who do it daily in the lake.
Arrival at Yagoua.



Day 4: Yagoua
Dinner and overnight at Yagoua
Visit of the city, Sana Logone headquarter (explanation of the projects by the technicians), visit of the Central Market and the new Cultural Centre of Yagoua.
ªStop at Kalak school, the first school built by the Campaign Globalmon Schooling, where traveller will have the opportunity of chatting with parents and teachers of the Association.


Day 5: Roomsiki
Dinner and overnight in Waza National Park Huts.

Excursion to the town of Pousse for visiting the known Obus’s Houses.

Day 9: Return to N'Djamena
Departure to Spain.



Option C

Solidarity Camp

4 weeks

Development of a comprehensive program for the Promotion of schooling pupils, parents and teachers.
The program will take place in two schools.

Accommodation in the Sana Logone and Globalmon Hostels.

During the 4 weeks excursions to places of interest of the Logone Valley will be scheduled.
Guero Lake, Town of Pousse and Obus’s Houses, Waza National Park, Village of Roosiki, Yagoua, Maroua, Bongor, etc.

Before travelling, volunteers must undergo a training course with Globalmon technicians.

Option D

Get work experience in the Logone Valley

Globalmon can manage the researching practices in the Logone Valley.

Requirements:
Submit a work plan related to any of the policy areas of Globalmon
Education campaign
Reinforcement in training teachers
Food sovereignty
Micro cooperatives
Awareness and initiatives to improve hygiene and health, environment and natural resources, gender equality.

Or any other proposal that is evaluated positively by Globalmon and Sana Logone.

The trainee decides how long he or she is staying.

All expenses are covered by the volunteer.

Accomodation in Sana Logone and Globalmon Hostels. The trainee can also manage other types of accommodation. Either visiting the different projects or touring itineraries, travellers continually cross from one country to another country.
